Welcome to The George Hardwick Foundation

The George Hardwick Foundation supports over 5000 Carers in Stockton and NE Lincolnshire.

Carers provide unpaid care by looking after an ill, frail or disabled family member, friend or partner. They give so much to society, yet as a consequence of caring, many people experience ill health, poverty and discrimination.

The George Hardwick Foundation provides a support network for Carers through our centres in Stockton, NE Lincolnshire and the innovative Carers' and Patients' Centre at North Tees Hospital.

We work with a number of partner organizations to provide Carers with the most up-to-date advice and information. We also offer free counselling and support. In addition, we are able to provide free relaxational therapies, such as Reiki and Massage, which enable Carers to focus a little much needed time on themselves.

We aim not only to provide support to Carers, but also to fight their cause and put an end to the injustice they face on a daily basis.

Our Patron is Jennifer Hardwick, widow of the famous footballing legend George Hardwick. Jennifer looked after George during his long illness and knows from personal experience how isolated carers can feel. She says: “We recognise what a tremendous job carers do. We are here to give the support they need to look after their loved one and cope with the emotions and demands required”.
