Befrienders are trained by us to learn to listen and empathise with carers and offer one-to-one support.
The Befriender training course is a 30 hour course which is broken down into 5 training sessions. This course includes basic Counselling skills and Grief and Loss work. The role allows you to help carer’s combat isolation and give them an opportunity to meet people in a safe and professional setting.
The attributes required are: Empathy, Effective listening, Trust-building, Confidentiality, Acceptance, Compassion, Professional Practise and An awareness of personal abilities and limitations.

Relaxational Therapies
We work with a number of holistic therapists to offer therapies such as Reiki, Aromatherapy Massage, Reflexology... etc to carers on a daily basis. If you would like more information, please email Ingrid@georgehardwickfoundation.org, or complete the application form.
Administration

Fundraising
We are currently looking to recruit volunteers to help out in our fundraising department.
